Why President Trump Should DEFUND NPR NOW!

By Mike Shoesmith

Well, it's finally over. The last remaining reason I had for ever, ever listening to National Public Radio (NPR) is now gone. Car Talk, really the only remaining neutral show on NPR is over with hosts "Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers" having retired at the end of September.

And with this departure it has become increasingly obvious that NPR no longer represents the American people as a whole and therefore no longer deserves the funding it receives and, according to their own website, desperately needs.

"Federal funding is essential to public radio's service to the American public. Its continuation is critical for both stations and program producers, including NPR."
"Service to the American public?" As someone who quite literally listens to more radio than anyone else on earth, I can tell you with undeniable certainty that NPR does not represent "the American public" at all. Evidence for this is two-fold.

  1. The "American public" voted for Donald Trump as their president.
  2. All of the programming on NPR is dedicated to denigrating Donald Trump, his views, opinions, and general worldview.
NPR seems to operate under the presuppositional narrative that Trump is bad for America, and everyone agrees with that narrative. Since Donald Trump won the election with pro-Trump signs literally strewn across the American landscape it also seems NPR is completely out of touch with the "American public." It also seems that NPR has defaulted on their mandate to represent the "American public."

Some of the NPR presuppositions are: Climate change is our fault in spite of the evidence that climate changes with or without our involvement (see dinosaur extinction). Globalization is good in spite of jobs lost and wages dramatically reduced (being acceptable casualties) along with illegal immigration eroding the culture leg of the three-legged nation identity stool. Fish-to-man evolution is a scientific fact ignoring the total lack of evidence that fish have ever turned into anything other than fish (and bacteria into anything other that bacteria). Homosexuality is normal and acceptable behaviour and anyone who opposes it is a homophobe and full of hate (in spite of the overwhelming scientific evidence that it is medically and psychologically harmful to individuals and society as a whole). Oh, and let's not forget: Trump is evil.

NPR is an enormous gaping liberal indoctrination money pit for which many (or most) Americans have literally no use. Their agenda is clear, the skirt has been lifted, and it is time for President Donald J Trump to defund this abomination and say, "YOU'RE FIRED!"
